Roffey thirds finally got a win on Saturday at Horsted Keynes after recent improved performances.
Electing to field, Jim Barnes took 2 wickets in his first over setting the tone for a good bowling performance.
Mark Bellamy, in his first third team game was unfortunate not to take a wicket in a tight opening spell.
A useful stand between Graham James and James Fuller followed until Conor Griffiths ran out Fuller.
Conor then clean bowled the dangerous Alex Waters and when Dave Liley removed James for 40
and opposition captain Harvey James for 42 and with Bellamy picking up a deserved wicket Horsted Keynes
were all out for 158. Jim Barnes 3/47 Conor Griffiths 2/21 Dave Liley 2/41 Mark Bellamy 1/32
Roffeys reply started badly with Andy Chantrill out early for 1 but Chris Kidd 38 joined Mick Webb 28 in an
80 run partnership, however both went in quick succession to Ian Prevett leaving Roffey in some trouble.
New player Rohit Kumar then hit a four and six before being bowled by Waters but the experienced
Martin Rivers shepherded the strike well and with the tail (including a big six by Owen Tyler) managed to
see Roffey home with 46no by 2 wickets at 159 for 8.
